Chhattisgarh News: Woman Cheats Jeweler by Selling Fake Gold

Chhattisgarh News: A case of fraud has emerged where a woman sold fake gold jewelry to a jewelry shop and bought new gold ornaments worth over 2 lakhs. Kotwali police have registered a case against the con woman.
The incident took place at the Zewar Jewelers located in Ganjpara. The shop owner, Subhash Sancheti, filed a complaint against the woman, leading to the police registering a case under sections 318(4), 336(3), 337, and 339 of the Indian Penal Code. According to the complaint, on the evening of July 18, a woman named Reema Devi, who claimed to be the wife of Golu Pandit and residing in front of Digambar Jain Dharmshala, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, visited the shop to buy a gold ring and bangle.
She selected the items and handed over an old gold chain in exchange. The woman provided her Aadhaar card for identification, which also mentioned her current address as Subhash Nagar, Durg. She even signed the Aadhaar card.
The jeweler, believing the chain to be genuine, purchased the old gold for ₹2,18,000 and, in return, gave her a gold ring and bangle worth ₹2,15,000. Additionally, he paid her ₹3,000 in cash. However, upon examining the items later, the jeweler discovered that the gold was fake.
Subhash Sancheti has provided the police with photos and videos of the accused woman. The police are currently investigating the matter.
