Atishi’s Dussehra Blunder: ‘Falsehood Will Win’ Slip Sparks BJP Fury, Demands Apology!
New Delhi – Delhi Chief Minister Atishi found herself at the center of controversy after a slip of the tongue during her speech at the Dussehra celebrations organized by the Ramlila Committee in the IP Extension area. In a viral video circulating on social media, Atishi is heard mistakenly saying, "falsehood and injustice will win," sparking outrage among BJP leaders, who demanded an apology from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments.
Atishi’s remarks came during the 'Ravana Dahan' event, where she initially spoke about the moral teachings of Lord Rama, emphasizing that no matter how strong falsehood appears, truth ultimately prevails. However, her statement concluded with, "falsehood will win, injustice will win," which quickly caught the attention of social media users and political opponents.

BJP’s Reaction
Delhi BJP media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor shared the video on social media, calling Atishi's words "arrogant" and accusing her of revealing her true thoughts. Kapoor stated, "These are Atishi's real thoughts. Today, the power of Delhi is in the hands of such unrighteous people, who think that falsehood and injustice are victorious." He demanded that AAP issue an apology for what he described as a statement that disrespects the sentiments of Hindus during a significant religious celebration.
Other BJP leaders followed suit, sharing the video and amplifying calls for an apology from Atishi and the AAP.
Atishi's Full Speech and Clarification
Despite the viral clip, Atishi's full speech emphasized the teachings of Lord Rama. She highlighted that "Ravana Dahan" serves as a reminder that even when falsehood seems powerful, it is truth and justice that eventually triumph. Atishi's intended message was to encourage people to fight against evil and follow the path of righteousness.
Ramlila Celebrations
At the event, officials from the Ramlila Committee Indraprastha presented a mace and a memento to Atishi as a token of respect. Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra and former minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan were also present at the celebration and were honored with mementos.
Harsh Malhotra spoke about the continued relevance of Lord Ram’s teachings and how Ramlila events pass on these values to the younger generation. In a separate Ramlila celebration at Patparganj, AAP leader Manish Sisodia spoke about the victory of dharma over adharma, wishing that society continues to follow the path of truth and justice for the welfare of all.
The controversy surrounding Atishi's remarks continues to unfold, as BJP leaders press for a formal apology from AAP, while AAP maintains that it was a simple slip of the tongue during an otherwise positive message.
