Delhi Crime Daylight Shooting Sparks Panic in West Delhi Meera Bagh

A terrifying incident occurred in West Delhi’s Meera Bagh, where broad daylight gunfire erupted in the busy Raj Mandir Market, causing panic among residents and shopkeepers. Reports indicate that around eight rounds were fired, alarming the entire area. Upon receiving information, police quickly arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting.

Serious Questions Raised About Police Efficiency

This recent incident in Meera Bagh, following a similar one in Nangloi just three days prior, has raised serious concerns about police effectiveness in curbing gang violence. Authorities suspect that both incidents may be linked to the same gang.

Sources reveal that a local businessman had received threats from gang members a few days before the shooting and had reported the incident to the Paschim Vihar West Police Station, where a First Information Report (FIR) was filed. However, the shooting incident occurring just a day after the complaint has left the community on edge. Currently, police officials are refraining from making any comments until the investigation progresses.

Gang Members Apprehended in Narela After Shootout

In a related breakthrough, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch apprehended two sharpshooters from the infamous Gogi gang in Narela after a confrontation. The accused, identified as Akash Rathore from Khera Khurd and a juvenile, were reportedly involved in firing at the offices of a property dealer in Alipur and a plywood businessman in Nangloi earlier this week as part of an extortion attempt. The arrested suspects were found with a stolen scooter, a pistol, and three rounds of ammunition.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the same gang was behind both the Alipur and Nangloi shootings. A dedicated police team, led by DCP Satish Kumar and ACP Vivek Tyagi, analyzed CCTV footage and other technical and manual inputs to trace the shooters back to the Gogi gang.

Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch team learned that Akash and his juvenile accomplice were planning to enter the Narela area on Tuesday morning. Officers, on high alert, spotted the suspects on a scooter. When the police signaled them to stop, the duo opened fire. In a swift response, the police managed to apprehend both without injury.

Confession and Gang Ties

During questioning, Akash reportedly confessed to being a member of the Gogi gang. He stated that they were acting on orders from fellow gang members Ram Niwas alias Mowgli, gangster Yogesh alias Tunda, and Monty Mann. Police continue to investigate, with further arrests and crackdowns anticipated on organized gang activities in Delhi.
