Delhi Murder Case: A case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act, addressing the tragic incident involving the mother and her 5-year-old daughter in Delhi.

In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly strangled her five-year-old daughter after being rejected by a man she had befriended on Instagram. The police claim that the case came to light on Friday when Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital informed them about a child brought dead there with strangulation marks on her neck.

Delhi Murder Case, Mother Kills 5-Year-Old 

After receiving the report, police registered a case and started questioning the mother and child's relatives. During interrogation, mother confessed to have done murder stating that the tragic circumstances that led her to do it. From her statement, it is indicated that she had been left by her first husband and later befriended a man called Rahul on Instagram. She came to Delhi hoping that the couple would marry. Rahul and his family did not accept her daughter and rejected her marriage proposal. Overwhelmed with frustration and desperation, the woman strangled her daughter.

The investigation also revealed even more shocking facts. The mother and her daughter had been living with a relative at Himachal Pradesh before shifting to Delhi, where the child had allegedly been raped by the relative. This added another layer of emotional trauma to already tragic story.

A case has been lodged under various sections of the law, including Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which defines murder, Section 65(2), pertaining to rape in certain circumstances, and Section 6 of the POCSO Act, pertaining to aggravated penetrative sexual assault.

This gut-wrenching case throws light on the intersection of personal distress, abuse, and mental health difficulties, thus underlining the pressing need for support systems and stronger protective measures for vulnerable women and children. The authorities are investigating the matter to fulfill the principles of justice.
