Muharram, July 17: Marking the first month of the Islamic calendar, Muharram includes Ashura, the tenth day, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
Independence Day, August 15: Celebrating India's independence from British rule, this national holiday sees all offices, schools, and colleges closed.
Janmashtami, August 26: Honoring the birth of Lord Krishna, this festival is widely celebrated, especially in Mathura and Vrindavan with depictions of Krishna’s life.
Eid-e-Milad, September 16: This day commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, celebrated in the third month of the Islamic calendar, Rabi' al-Awwal.
