Delhi Schools Face Over 100 Bomb Threats in 20 Days; Police Uncover Shocking Truth Behind Emails

In a shocking revelation, Delhi Police has traced bomb threat emails sent to two schools over the past 20 days to two students. The students admitted to their actions, explaining that they wanted the schools to shut down temporarily and exams to be postponed since they were unprepared.

The Students' Plot

The two minors, students in the same school, outsmarted their way in achieving their objective. The students sent threatening emails claiming that bombs had been placed in the schools, making the authorities close the schools temporarily. Although the two students were successful in achieving their plan, police inquiries later exposed the truth.

Police Investigation and Action

Delhi Police has been working day and night tracing the sources of the bomb threat emails, which have been sent using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to mask the origin. Once the students were traced, they were counseled and later released. Warnings were issued to their parents to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Escalating Threats to Schools

One of the institutions targeted was Venkateshwar Global School, which received a bomb threat email on November 28, a day after an explosion at Rohini's Prashant Vihar PVR multiplex. Another school in Rohini also received similar threats from one of its students. These incidents have raised serious concerns about the increasing use of bomb threats as a disruptive tactic.

A Pattern of Threats

The recent spate of bomb threats is not an isolated incident. Since May 2024, over 50 bomb threat emails have been sent to schools, hospitals, airports, and airlines in Delhi. The emails are often routed through VPNs, making it difficult for the police to trace the culprits. The pattern of threats began in December 2023 and has escalated in the past few months. More than 100 threats have been issued to schools alone in the last 20 days.

Social and Security Concerns

The incidents highlight a growing trend of disruptive tactics involving minors, raising questions about the influence of technology and the misuse of digital tools like VPNs. Authorities have emphasized the need for parents and schools to educate children about the consequences of such actions.
