On Thursday, August 1, a heated exchange erupted in the Lok Sabha during Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's speech. Vaishnaw was detailing the improvements and measures taken in the railway sector, specifically regarding the arrangements made for loco pilots, when an opposition MP mockingly referred to him as a "Reel Minister." This comment sparked an immediate and fiery response from Vaishnaw, who is usually known for his composed demeanor.

The incident occurred while Vaishnaw was explaining the significance of loco pilots in the railway ministry. He emphasized the steps taken to ensure their well-being, mentioning that they have designated rooms to rest in after completing their shifts. It was during this explanation that an opposition member made the "Reel Minister" jibe.

Vaishnaw, visibly irritated, retorted, "We are not just here to make reels. We are hardworking people, dedicated to our duties. Unlike you, we don't just make reels to show off. Understand?"

As the commotion grew, Vaishnaw lost his usual calm and sharply admonished the opposition members, saying, "Sit down, be quiet... sit down immediately. You people say anything." Addressing Speaker Om Birla, he added, "Honorable Speaker, please bring the House to order. This is unacceptable. They speak without thinking."

Despite the disruption, Speaker Om Birla advised Vaishnaw, "Honorable Minister, do not respond to any individual remarks." Vaishnaw complied, responding, "As you command, Sir." He then continued with his speech, providing details on railway recruitments and the various reforms implemented in the sector.

The incident highlighted the ongoing tensions in the Lok Sabha, with both the ruling party and opposition members standing their ground and engaging in vociferous debates.
