Gujarat: Building Constructed By Businessman VP Vaishnav Sealed Post Intense Scrutiny Over Gaming Zone Incident

Rajkot: In the wake of the TRP Game Zone fire incident in Rajkot, scrutiny has intensified against corrupt officials. Former TPO Mansukh Sagathiya has come under the spotlight for allegedly approving illegal constructions.
The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has sealed a showroom on Yagnik Road, constructed by V.P. Vaishnav, president of the Rajkot Chamber of Commerce. Vaishnav reportedly purchased old buildings and converted them into commercial properties, constructing the showroom with approval from Sagathiya.
The approved plan permitted construction with an impact fee, allowing a ceiling height of up to 10 feet. However, it has been revealed that the ceiling height was extended to 15 feet, allegedly due to Vaishnav's connections with the BJP.
Upon discovering these discrepancies, RMC officials conducted an inspection. Finding the construction lacking a fire NOC and building usage (BU) permission, they proceeded to seal the premises.
