Haryana Braveheart Mahender Singh Laid to Rest: 7-Year-Old Son Lights the Funeral Pyre in a Heart-Wrenching Tribute!
In a poignant ceremony that resonated throughout Mahendergarh district, Havildar Mahender Singh of village Lawan was honored after tragically losing his life in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir. The soldier's body was brought back to his ancestral village, where an emotional farewell took place, marked by profound grief and respect from the community.
The 7-year-old son of the late soldier, Gaurav, lit the funeral pyre for his father, a sight that brought tears to the eyes of many. Villagers paid their heartfelt tributes, escorting Mahender’s body from Majra Chungi to the village with patriotic songs blaring from motorcycles and a DJ, creating a somber yet proud atmosphere.
Havildar Mahender Singh was stationed with the 338 Medium Regiment in Ratnuchak, Jammu. He suffered severe injuries along with his wife in a road accident, which ultimately claimed his life, while his wife's condition remains critical, and she is currently undergoing treatment.
The final rites were attended by several dignitaries, including MLA Rao Dan Singh and former BJP district president Kanwar Singh Yadav, alongside various administrative officials. The military gave the fallen soldier a proper state farewell, honoring his sacrifices and bravery.
Mahender’s father, Prem Singh, a retired soldier himself, shared that his only son joined the army in 2009. He received news of Mahender's injuries on October 4 from military officials. The martyr leaves behind a 7-year-old son, Gaurav, and a 13-year-old daughter, Anshu.
