Horrific Murder in Bengaluru: Woman’s Throat Slashed by Friend’s Lover

Accused Arrested from Madhya Pradesh
Bengaluru: A 24-year-old woman from Bihar, Kriti Kumari, was brutally murdered in her hostel in Koramangala, Bengaluru. The accused, identified as Abhishek, was arrested on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh, days after the heinous crime on July 23.
Motives Under Investigation
The Bengaluru police have detained Abhishek to investigate the motive behind the gruesome murder. Kriti, who worked for a private company, was a colleague of the accused’s girlfriend. According to the police, Abhishek entered Kriti's room on the third floor of the VR Layout PG hostel around 11:30 PM and slit her throat with a knife. She died on the spot.
Incident Close to Police Stations
The crime occurred at Bhargavi Staying Homes for Ladies in Venkatreddy Layout, merely a kilometer away from the Southeast Deputy Commissioner of Police’s office and the Koramangala Police Station.
Disturbing CCTV Footage
The police released CCTV footage showing the accused carrying a bag, approaching Kriti's room, and knocking on the door. Although the door is not visible in the footage, moments later, the door opens, and Abhishek pulls Kriti outside. He then repeatedly stabs her before fleeing the scene. The footage also shows Kriti, covered in blood, sitting on the floor and crying for help.
Details of the Crime
The incident is believed to have occurred between 11:10 and 11:30 PM on Tuesday in the third-floor PG where Kriti resided. The police are now probing the reasons behind this horrific act and ensuring that the accused faces justice.
