Hyderabad: A major incident has emerged from Andhra Pradesh, where a small act of carelessness led to a devastating fire on Wednesday. The fire broke out after a man casually discarded a lit matchstick after smoking a bidi, setting off a chain of events that resulted in flames engulfing several shops and vehicles within moments. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, creating widespread concern.
According to reports, the incident took place in Anantapur district, specifically in the town of Kalyandurgam around 11:30 AM. A man had purchased five liters of petrol from a local petrol station. However, while riding his bike, the container allegedly began to leak, spilling petrol across the road.

CCTV footage reveals that the fire started near a cluster of shops where two men were standing. One of them lit a bidi and carelessly threw the burning matchstick onto the petrol-soaked street, which instantly ignited. The sudden blaze caused panic, with people running in all directions to escape. Vehicles parked nearby were quickly consumed by the flames, and the fire threatened to reach a nearby petrol pump. Fortunately, quick action by locals prevented the fire from spreading further.
Despite the prompt response, several shops and vehicles were damaged in the fire. The incident highlights the dangerous consequences of seemingly small actions when safety precautions are ignored.
