Hyderabad: Techie Jumps to Death in Lake Over Marriage Pressure from Girlfriend

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old techie from Hyderabad ended his life because he could not disclose his love story to his parents, India Herald reported. The deceased, identified as Balaji, worked as a software engineer at an IT firm in Madhapur Knowledge City and resided in Musheerabad.
On Wednesday, July 24, Balaji went to work as usual but did not return home, and his phone was turned off. Concerned friends and family searched for him, but no one knew his whereabouts.
Eventually, Balaji's parents filed a missing person report at the Raidurg police station. The police launched an investigation and tracked his movements using CCTV footage. They found that on July 24, around 8:30 PM, Balaji left his office and headed to Durgam Cheruvu.
Sadly, he jumped into the lake, ending his life. The police discovered his body on Friday night, identifying him through his ID card. Further investigation revealed that Balaji had been in a relationship for several years. It is believed that the pressure from his girlfriend to get married and his inability to share this relationship with his family led him to take such a drastic step.
Balaji's body has been sent to Osmania Hospital for a postmortem, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
