Kerala: Woman Techie Arrested in Rs 20 Crore Fraud Says 'Bag Is Full of Cash, Bought Land on Moon'

Kollam: Dhanya Mohan, a techie accused of embezzling Rs 20 crore from a private company in Thrissur since 2019, responded to the media with a mix of sarcasm and anger as she was escorted to a police jeep from the Kollam East police station, where she surrendered earlier today.

When questioned about her involvement in the fraud, Dhanya retorted, "Yes, my bag is full of cash. Come, take it. I also bought five cents of land on the moon with the money."

The scam was uncovered following a recent suspicious transaction in April, where Dhanya transferred Rs 80 lakh from the company's digital personal loan account to her own. Dhanya, a native of Thirumullavaram, Kollam, held the position of Assistant General Manager, Tech Lead at an IT product and service company backed by a prominent financial firm in Kerala.

Police suspect that she may have used the embezzled funds to purchase properties and that land was bought in the names of her relatives.
