On Monday, Hari Shankar Jha, a resident of Saharsa, withdrew ₹22.5 lakh from an SBI bank and placed the cash-filled bag on the back seat of his Fortuner car. Jha instructed his driver to wait in the car as he stepped out briefly.
Within minutes, an unidentified individual approached the driver, tricking him by claiming that a ₹10 note had fallen near the front wheel. The driver, falling for the ruse, got out of the car to pick up the note. Seizing the opportunity, the thief snatched the bag from the back seat and fled the scene.
