Navi Mumbai Police Busts Major Sex Racket, Two Arrested Including Bangladeshi Woman

In Navi Mumbai’s Taloja area, a major sex racket was busted, leading to the arrest of two women and the rescue of a Bangladeshi national. Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of the Navi Mumbai Police conducted a successful operation on Tuesday. Senior Police Inspector Prithviraj Ghorpade from the AHTC confirmed the details of the operation, revealing that the racket was operating out of a residential house.

The police, posing as customers, infiltrated the operation, confirming the illegal activities before conducting a raid. Upon entering the residence, officers arrested Haseena Musharraf Khan, a 30-year-old woman allegedly running the racket, and identified another accused, 39-year-old Saliya Safiq Khan. The clients were instructed to make digital payments to Saliya, further implicating her in the operation.

One of the victims, a Bangladeshi woman, was rescued during the raid and has since been sent to a rehabilitation center in Mumbai’s Chembur area. The two accused have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Sections 143(2) for trafficking, and the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, alongside provisions from the Passport and Foreigners Act due to Haseena’s Bangladeshi origin.

The Navi Mumbai police are continuing their investigation, aiming to dismantle the broader network involved in this trafficking and prostitution ring.
