Raigad: Major diesel smuggling operation uncovered at Rewas Jetty, 33,000 liters seized

Raigad: In a major crackdown on illegal activities, the police have exposed a diesel smuggling operation via sea routes in Raigad district. The Local Crime Investigation Department conducted a raid on a boat at Rewas Jetty in Alibag, seizing a substantial amount of diesel and other items.

During the operation, four individuals were taken into custody. The apprehended suspects have been identified as Ganesh Koli, Vinayak Koli, Gajanan Koli, and Mukesh Nishad. Authorities seized 33,000 liters of diesel during the raid.

The operation was initiated following several complaints received by the Local Crime Investigation Branch about diesel being smuggled via sea routes. Acting on these complaints, the police carried out the successful raid.

This significant seizure highlights the ongoing issue of illegal diesel smuggling in the region and the efforts of law enforcement to curb such activities. The apprehended individuals are currently under investigation to uncover more details about the smuggling network.
