The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 AM on Wednesday, when two carriages of the train separated near Gothangam Yard in the Vadodara division.

In a startling incident, a carriage of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double-Decker Express detached near Sayan, just before reaching Surat, causing panic among passengers. The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 AM on Wednesday, when two carriages of the train separated near Gothangam Yard in the Vadodara division. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

 


Passengers were seen disembarking from the train and standing on the tracks, visibly shaken by the incident. Railway staff promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and work on reattaching the detached carriage. Authorities assured that the train would be repaired and resumed its journey shortly.

Similar Incident in Madhya Pradesh

This incident follows another railway mishap in Madhya Pradesh, where a potential disaster was averted near Aslana, in the Damoh district, on Tuesday, August 13. Four wagons of a freight train derailed near Patharia after the engine's emergency brakes were suddenly applied due to a sinking track. Fortunately, no one was injured, although the derailment disrupted services on the Bina-Katni railway line.

In a separate incident on July 18, five carriages of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, with three of them overturning, resulting in several fatalities.

These recent incidents highlight the ongoing safety concerns in India's railway system, prompting calls for improved maintenance and safety protocols.
