Air India Express Expands Network: New Daily Flight From Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai Among 6 New Routes

Chennai: Air India Express has expanded its domestic reach by introducing six new daily flights, significantly enhancing its network across the country. These new routes include connections between Chennai and Bhubaneswar, Bagdogra, and Thiruvananthapuram, as well as new services linking Kolkata with Varanasi and Guwahati. Additionally, the Guwahati-Jaipur route, which is exclusively operated by Air India Express, adds a unique offering to its growing network.

The introduction of these routes marks a substantial growth for the airline, with five of them being entirely new additions. In response to increased demand on the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route, which was previously served by just two weekly flights, Air India Express has increased the frequency to a daily service, bringing the total to nine flights per week.

Starting from August 12, 2024, the new flight schedule is as follows:

Chennai to Bhubaneswar

Air India Express Network Expansion

Chennai: Now connected directly to 10 destinations, including domestic cities like Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Thiruvananthapuram, as well as international destinations like Dammam, Kuwait, and Singapore. The airline also offers one-stop connections to 24 other locations.

Bhubaneswar: Offers direct flights to seven domestic cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune, with 26 additional one-stop connections.

Bagdogra: Now linked directly to five domestic destinations—Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata—with access to 26 one-stop domestic and international destinations.

Kolkata: Emerges as the third-largest hub for Air India Express, with 124 weekly flights to 34 destinations, including 12 direct domestic routes and numerous one-stop destinations.

Thiruvananthapuram: Offers 12 direct connections to both domestic and international destinations, with links to 23 one-stop destinations.

Guwahati: Connected to eight domestic destinations and 23 one-stop locations, covering both domestic and international routes.

Varanasi: Serviced by 42 weekly flights, directly linking it to three domestic destinations and one international destination, along with multiple one-stop connections.

Jaipur: Offers nine direct flights to domestic destinations and one international destination, with connections to 24 one-stop destinations.

This strategic expansion by Air India Express aims to cater to the rising demand for air travel across India, ensuring better connectivity and convenience for passengers.
