Assamese Girl Reported Missing in Thiruvananthapuram; Police Intensify Search

The Thiruvananthapuram City police have intensified their efforts to find a 13-year-old girl from Assam who went missing in Kazhakuttam on Tuesday. The missing child, identified as Thasmid Thamasum, is the eldest daughter of Anwar Hussain, a daily wage laborer. The family recently relocated to Kerala and is currently residing in a rented home near the Kazhakuttam block panchayat office. Thasmid, a student in Class 6 at Kaniyapuram Muslim Girls High School, was last seen around 10 a.m. The family reported her disappearance to the Kazhakuttom police by 4 p.m.
According to police, Thasmid might have left home after being scolded by her mother for an argument with her sisters. It’s believed she only speaks Assamese and might have taken a bag with some clothes and ₹50 with her.
The authorities have heightened security at key transit points, particularly railway stations, and are reviewing CCTV footage to trace her movements. The police have also circulated her photos and contact information on social media to aid in the search.
