Billionaire businessmen Bill Gates and his long-time life partner Melinda Gates have decided to end their relationship 27 years after their marriage, the couple announced on their Twitter timeline.
The couple who own an estimated $146 million didn’t say anything about their future financial plans. However, they promised to cooperate to continue their philanthropy.
“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the two said in a statement on Twitter.

“We have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives,” they added.
The 65-year old Microsoft Corp. co-founder is the fourth richest man in the world. Former Microsoft manager Melinda Gates gained international importance after she began running the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The couple will remain co-chairs and trustees of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, an official spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
“No changes to their roles or the organization are planned,” the statement said.
“They will continue to work together to shape and approve foundation strategies, advocate for the foundation’s issues, and set the organization’s overall direction,” it added.
