Hyundai IPO GMP Falls: What It Means for Investors Before The Listing - Read Now

Hyundai IPO GMP Falls: Hyundai IPO is again in the news generating a buzz ahead of listing next Tuesday, though GMP suggests a downward trend. So far, it has crashed GMP on Hyundai Motors suggesting that the stock may be flat when it would finally debut in the market. Concern among investors is developed on declining GMP of the stock and may hint at waning enthusiasm for the IPO.

On a related note, four of the top ten most-valued Indian companies added up to ₹81,151.31 crore to their market valuation last week. The biggest gainers were ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank, as the valuation for ICICI Bank rose ₹28,495.14 crore. The company now stands at ₹8,90,191.38 crore. HDFC Bank added ₹23,579.11 crore, taking its valuation to ₹12,82,848.30 crore.

Hyundai IPO GMP Falls: This has been more or less a mixed month for the stock market, despite some of the companies recording positive news. The BSE benchmark index lost 156.61 points or 0.19% to end turbulent in overall market sentiments.

On the flip side, several large companies suffered decline in market capitalization. Infosys has lost ₹23,314.31 crore as its market capitalisation has come down to ₹7,80,126.10 crore. Reliance Industries has also lost ₹16,645.39 crore, and its market cap has come down to ₹18,38,721.14 crore. Hindustan Unilever, TCS, LIC, ITC etc are some of the prominent losers in market cap decline.

But at the back of all this is the fact that Reliance Industries remains the most valuable Indian company, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, and Bharti Airtel. In other closely watched IPO, Hyundai is one that will be of interest; despite the problems it has reflected in GMP, there is hope among investors for the latter part of the year.
