According to the latest WTW salary budget planning report, India is set to achieve an average salary increase of 9.5% in 2025, maintaining the same rate as this year. This growth positions India at the forefront of salary hikes in Asia, leaving countries like China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and others trailing behind.

The report highlights that India's corporate sector anticipates the highest salary hikes, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, expected to rise by 10%. Other sectors like manufacturing (9.9%), insurance (9.7%), and retail (9.6%) are also projected to surpass the national average.

In contrast, Vietnam is estimated to see a 7.6% increase, while Indonesia and the Philippines will experience 6.5% and 5.6%, respectively. China and Thailand are expected to lag with increases of only 5%.

Rajul Mathur, WTW India’s head of consulting, noted that employers and employees are now prioritizing stability after a wave of resignations. About 28% of companies are planning new recruitment in the coming year, despite a high resignation rate of 10.8%.
