Celebrate Festivals with 'Make in India' Products, Says PM Modi in Mann Ki Baat

As the 'Make in India' initiative completes its 10th anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his 114th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat,' urging citizens to support locally made products during the festive season. Modi emphasized the importance of contributing to the nation’s economic growth by purchasing goods made by Indian artisans, thereby strengthening the foundation of India’s manufacturing sector.

He also extended an invitation to the creator community, urging them to showcase their talent and contribute to the 'Create in India' movement, encouraging innovation and local production. With this appeal, Modi aimed to combine creativity with economic growth, asking people to embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship and local craftsmanship.

Celebrating 10 Years of 'Mann Ki Baat'

Reflecting on the 10-year journey of his popular radio program 'Mann Ki Baat,' the Prime Minister expressed nostalgia and gratitude. The initiative, which started on Vijayadashami (October 3, 2014), has grown into a platform to share inspiring stories and connect with citizens. “This episode today is going to make me emotional...the journey of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is completing 10 years," he said, recalling the program's launch a decade ago.

Interestingly, the 10-year milestone of 'Mann Ki Baat' coincides with Navratri, symbolizing a time of new beginnings and celebrations in India. Modi took this moment to further underscore the significance of the 'Make in India' initiative, urging people to not only celebrate festivals but to also contribute to the nation by supporting Indian-made products.

Rising Exports and Success of 'Make in India'

Highlighting the success of the 'Make in India' initiative, the Prime Minister noted a substantial increase in exports across various sectors, attributing this growth to the program’s impact. The surge in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is another testimony to the success of 'Make in India,' with businesses worldwide showing confidence in India's manufacturing capabilities.

“India has become a manufacturing powerhouse, and the world is looking up to us because of our youth power,” Modi remarked. The initiative’s achievements showcase how India’s manufacturing sector has risen to meet global demands, making it a vital player in international trade.

Pride in Indian Heritage

In addition to economic achievements, Modi also took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of India’s cultural heritage. Referring to his recent visit to the United States, he spoke about the return of nearly 300 ancient artefacts to India, a step that reflects the nation's growing pride in its heritage. Over the last decade, many artefacts have been brought back to India from around the world, further strengthening the nation's cultural legacy.

Modi's governance mantra of 'Vikas' (development) and 'Virasat' (heritage) was prominently highlighted, showing his balanced focus on both economic growth and cultural preservation. He encouraged people to continue taking pride in India's rich heritage while contributing to the nation's future growth.

Buy Local, Support Indian Artisans

Towards the end of his address, PM Modi urged the citizens to gift locally made products to their loved ones during the festive season. “Any product made with the sweat of an Indian artisan is our pride,” he remarked, reinforcing the need to support local artisans and craftsmen. The Prime Minister’s call to action was clear: festivals are an opportunity to not only celebrate but also contribute to the nation’s growth by choosing local over global products.
