Petrol and diesel prices were increased again for the 12th times in a month, a notification issued by a state-owned fuel retailer said on May 23, 2021.
The price of diesel rose by 27 paise to Rs 54.07 per litre, while petrol rates increase to Rs 93.21 per litre in Delhi.
Several cities in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have been selling petrol at the price above Rs 100 mark for a long time. After the latest increase in the rates, the price in Mumbai was also inching toward Rs 100 per litre.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) make changes in the fuel prices every day.
