Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 75th Independence Day announced that the govt will soon launch ‘PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.’
It is a 100 lakh crore national infrastructure master plan. Mr Modi was addressing the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort in Delhi. Gati Shakti will immensely help the local manufacturers when it comes to global competition.
It will also develop possibilities for new future economic zones. An initiative of Rs 100 lakh crore, Gatishakti will bring employment opportunities for youth while helping in holistic infrastructure growth.
PM Modi said that the pace of service delivery through government schemes has also gone up compared with earlier times. And now the goal remains to make sure that all eligible persons are covered under these.
Mr Modi also added that India imported mobile phones worth USD 8 billion seven years ago and is now exporting USD 3 billion worth of mobile phones.
The government’s focus is to make small farmers, the country’s pride, said Mr Modi. Rice provided under any scheme will be fortified by 2024, the prime minister announced.
In his Independence Day speech, PM Modi also said that multiple parts of the country — east, northeast, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh including the entire Himalayan region, the coastal belt or the tribal region — will become a big base for India’s development in the future.
