As the COVID-19 cases continue to increase across the country, the chances for the cancellation of CBSE and CISCE board exams grow to the maximum.
This comes at a time when the lakh of students are waiting for the final decision by CBSE and CISCE on their board exams. Notably, India Wide Parents Association (IWPA) has urged Prime Minister to cancel the examinations.
In its letter addressed to PM Modi, the association has requested PM Modi to reconsider the decision on 12th Board Exams 2021 while stating the current COVID-19 situation in the country.
Suggesting for the evaluation of the students on their past performances, the Parents’ Association said the aptitude test can be conducted if required.
“Many students and parents from across India are worried about the upcoming 12th Board Exams 2021 in physical mode due to the alarming rate of growth of COVID 19 cases and deaths during the second wave. It is going to have an immense negative impact on the mental health of students. Also, there is a chance that their entire year will be wasted. Students are studying in Class 12 for more than one and half years now. It is high time government gives them attention and takes decision immediately without any further delay”, the letter reads.
Last month, Class 12th Board Exams were postponed by the CBSE, which it had scheduled to hold from May 4. The Board had then said that the final decision would be taken on June 1.
“A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations,” the board had said.
Following the suit, CISCE and several other state boards had also deferred class 12 board examinations.
