COVID-19: DU closes North Campus Examination Branch for two days

The University of Delhi has decided to keep the examination branch of its North Campus close for two days on Aril 19 and April 20.

The decision comes as a result of the sudden increase in cases of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a statement issued by the University Administration, the examination branch of the DU’s north campus will reopen on Thursday, April 22, 2021.

“In view of [the] surge in the COVID cases in the Examination Branch of North Campus, it has been decided that the same shall remain closed on Monday and Tuesday i.e. 19-20 April 2021 (21.04.2021 is Gazetted Holiday). Therefore, it will open on Thursday the 22.04.2021,” the statement issued by the University of Delhi said.

According to the guidelines issued by the University of Delhi, the final year students will be able to visit their respective colleges/centers/departments for their laboratory/practical/ skill/ library and other activities.

They will have to follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines issued by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

After the sudden rise in the COVID-19 cases, several states and Union Territories have closed educational institutes.

The states that have closed down schools and colleges include Haryana, Odisha, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.
