Delhi Night Curfew: JNU administration restricts movement inside campus

The Jawaharlal Nehru University on April 6, 2021, decided to restrict movement in and out of the campus from 10 PM to 5 AM.

The university administration took this decision to comply with the Delhi government’s night curfew order for the national capital.

In a notice, the university administration said that the people coming from or going to the railway station, airport, or ISBT will be allowed only if they produce a valid ticket.

“However, there shall be no restrictions on movements of persons who are engaged for emergency services, medical emergency and supply of goods during the curfew period on production of valid I-card,” the notice said.

“The security branch of the university is instructed to ensure strict compliance of this order, and shall adequately inform and sensitise the field functionaries about these instructions for strict compliance, in letter and spirit and all entry gates of the campus shall be closed in the curfew timings. Anyone who violates the above directions and COVID-19 protocols, such violators shall be liable for disciplinary action,” the varsity said.

Delhi government on April 6, 2021, issued a night curfew order because of increasing cases of COVID-19 in the national capital.

The government directed the administration to promulgate a night curfew from 10 PM to 5 AM. This night curfew will continue till April 30, 2021.
