Gujarat Govt announces financial assistance, other benefits for COVID orphans

The Gujarat government has announced various relief measures for children who have lost both of their parents to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While announcing `Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana’ Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said the children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic will get Rs 4,000 every month till they complete 18 years of their age

The government will continue to give financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per month to Children till 21 years of age if they continue their studies. All stipends will continue during higher studies, CM said, adding that all sorts of undergraduate and postgraduate courses will come under this scheme.

The Chief Minister also added that government will give priority to such children while offering various government schemes for the scholarship with India and abroad.
