In viral screenshot, IIT Goa asks students to prepare questions and answer them for semester exams

A screenshot of the question paper went viral hours after an announcement on the end-semester exam by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Goa) on May 28, 2021.

According to the announcement, students will have to prepare questions and answer them for their semester exams.

The viral screenshot of the question paper drew both jokes and admiration from the viewers on the internet.

“Prepare the questions of 60 marks from the lecture materials provided to you in the entire semester (Lecture 1 to Lecture 30),” the screenshot of the IIT Goa question paper said.

“It should reflect your understanding of the course and also must be answered in 2 hours. Avoid discussion with your friends; it may reduce your score if similarities are found. Answer the question that you prepared,” the question paper added.

Many have appreciated the new method adopted by the Goa IIT for the evaluation of the students. This comes at a time when the whole country is demanding the postponement of the board exams following the worsening situation of COVID-19 in the country.

“Woah! What an examination! You prepare questions for yourself and answer the same. Gotta say IIT Goa has [found] out this unique way to evaluate students by themselves. It’s not gonna be easy when you are set free to choose questions to answer. Gonna be the test of integrity too,” a Tweeter user said, appreciating the new method adopted by the IIT Goa for student assessment.
