NMC Extends Deadline for Annual Declaration Submission
NMC has made the submission of the completed Annual Declaration Form on its portal mandatory for the annual renewal of UG-MBBS seat permissions at medical colleges.
The NMC has since tweeted to declare an extension for the submission of Annual Declaration Form by medical colleges, giving institutions more time to comply with the requirements. The new deadline has now been shifted from November 30, 2024, to December 10, 2024.
NMC Extends Deadline
The submission is mandatory for all the medical colleges who want to seek renewal of permission for their UG-MBBS seats. The submission is not, however, required for those colleges that received LOP in 2024 and have not yet started admitting students for the 2024-25 academic year. The Annual Declaration Form forms an integral part of the process for the annual renewal of UG-MBBS seat permissions. On the NMC portal, it is mandatory for the colleges to submit the duly completed form, so that their seats get deemed valid for the new academic session. Colleges that do not achieve this deadline shall not receive permission for MBBS admissions. The NMC clearly indicated it would not back down on this submission and that non-compliance would attract penalties as indicated in the Medical Standards and Monitoring Regulations (MSMER) 2023.

The official NMC notice emphasizes that it is the "last chance" for medical colleges to submit the required information and that those who do not abide by the regulations will face consequences including not conducting MBBS admissions for the year 2025-26. This move goes on to demonstrate the NMC's seriousness in making all the processes of managing medical education transparent and accountable, across the entire country of India.
The NMC further warned that failure or delay in submitting the Annual Declaration Form will result in strict penalties as provided for by the MSMER 2023 guidelines. The Commission has emphasized that submission of this form is not only a legal requirement but also a critical step in the maintenance of integrity in medical education and ensuring that institutions are able to meet the requirements set for the training of future healthcare professionals.
