Pondicherry University decides to establish a COVID-19 care centre on its premises

Pondicherry University has decided to establish a COVID-19 care centre on its campus, according to a statement released by the University administration.

This decision comes as an option to provide to offer treatment and other services to COVID-19 patients within the University.

“Professor Gurmeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Pondicherry University has accorded in-principle approval for setting up a Covid Care Centre at Pondicherry University,” the university administration said in the statement.

However, the COVID-19 care centre will be established only after the final approval from the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and Chief Rector of Pondicherry University.

The university also said that it has tried to ensure sufficient beds and special wards for the faculty, staff, and students on a priority basis for treatment.
