A total of 21 Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) of the Indian Railways has started its mega recruitment drive on December 15, 2020.

Around 1.4 lakh vacancies are expected to be filed through this recruitment drive. This drive is divided to be held into three-phase. Around 2.44 crore candidates are likely to participate in this drive. The boards have released guidelines to ensure safety measures at exam centers.

Exam details

Giving details about the exam, the Indian Railways had said, “The first phase of the exam will start from December 15 till December 18, 2020, for CEN 03/2019 (Isolated and Ministerial categories).”

“This will be followed by CEN 01/2019 (NTPC categories) from 28 December to tentatively till March 2021 and the third recruitment for CEN No RRC- 01/2019 (Level-1) is likely to be held in April onwards till June end, 2021,” it added.

Covid-19 guidelines

Candidates will have to wear a mask at the examination centers. The covid-19 self-declaration form is compulsory for everyone at the exam centers. Every candidate will have to get their temperature assessed at the gate. In case a candidate is measured with more than temperature than prescribed, he or she will not be allowed to enter the premises of the exam centers.

Official announcement

The Railways Ministry had said in an early announcement, “It may be noted that RRBs has issued three centralized employment notifications (CEN). “CEN 01/2019, CEN 03/2019, and RRC-01/2019 have been issued for a total of about 1.4 lakh vacancies for various categories of staff by Railway Recruitment Boards.”
