UP Board Class 12 Exam 2021: CM Yogi Adityanath cancels examination amid pandemic

UP Board Class 12 Exam 2021: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced the cancellation of UP Board Class 12 Exam 2021. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma announced that the state government has decided to cancel UP Board Exam 2021.

The UP CM took the decision in a crucial meeting on Thursday. Earlier, CM Yogi had welcomed Centre’s decision to cancel CBSE Class 12 board exams.

“For us, health, safety of students is of utmost importance and is our priority. UP govt has decided to cancel the exams,” CM Yogi tweeted.

However, the full official notice of UP Board Exam 2021 is still awaited. The board previously asked all affiliated schools to upload their 11th and 12th grade internal exam scores. Around 26 lakh candidates registered for the examination.

On Wednesday, the CBSE Class 12 board exams were cancelled. The decision was taken in view of the “uncertain conditions” due to pandemic and based on feedback from different stakeholders.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial meeting on Tuesday and held discussion with all stakeholders.

The PM Office said that the CBSE will announce results for Class 12 students “as per a well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.”

“Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth,” PM Modi had tweeted.
