UP Official on Class 10, 12 board exams: Will Discuss and Decide

The authorities have not taken any decision about the class 10 and 12 board examinations in Uttar Pradesh, a month after the announcement by the government on the postponement of the exams.

The class 10 and 12 examinations postpone was announced by the government a month ago amid a devastating surge in the cases of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“So far, no decision has been taken on the cancellation of Class 10 and Class 12 exams. The government will discuss and decide on this. The exams had already been put on hold a month ago,” Divya Kant Shukla, Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) was quoted as telling Careers360 in a report published by the NDTV.

A decision for closure of the school till May 15 was also taken at the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After this meeting, the school staff has been to work from home till May 20.

Class 10 and 12 examinations were deferred after the cancellation of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 exams and the postponement of class 12 examinations. Several states either canceled or postponed the board exams for the class 10 and 12 students after the central government announced its decision about the exams.

Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) had issued the changed schedule for the class 10 and 12 board exams. According to the revised date sheet issued by the UPMSP, the exams were scheduled to be held from May 8 and May 28, 2021. Initially, the board had decided to start examinations in April but it was postponed due to rising cases of the coronavirus across the country.
