West Bengal Thursday announced the dates for Board examinations of Classes 10 and 12.
These will take place in the state in July and August for their respective schools.
As per the tentative schedule of the West Bengal Board exam released by CM Mamata Banerjee, the Class 12 board exams will be held in the last week of July.
However, Class 10 board exams will take place in the second week of August.
A shorter examination of 90 minutes each of only major subjects will take place in the same schools where students are enrolled.
For other subjects though, the schools will evaluate students based on the internal assessments.
As many as 8.5 lakh Class 12 students will appear. And for Class 10, 12 lakh students will appear in the West Bengal Board examination this year.
Earlier, student body in West Bengal had urged the state Education Minister to ensure that students do not lag behind examinees of other boards.
As the coronavirus pandemic led to the postponement of various exams. Moreover, the final decision on UP Board Class 10, 12 exams, Maharashtra board exams is yet to come.
