#2YearsOfUri: Vicky Kaushal shares first look of The Immortal Ashwathama

Vicky Kaushal has been working really hard since the past few weeks, making sure that he beefs up his physique. The reason why this talented artist has been sweating it out in the gym is his upcoming sci-fi movie The Immortal Ashwathama that has a mythological twist.

Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal will be next seen in the The Immortal Ashwathama and he shared the first look on Monday as his iconic movie Uri completed 2 years,  for which both Vicky and Aditya Dhar won National Film Awards for Best Actor and Best Director, respectively.

The actor released the first poster of the film and gave a glimpse into the world of Ashwatthama. He wrote that he cannot wait to get onto this journey with his dream team. Aditya Dhar directed Vicky’s 2019 film Uri, which catapulted the actor to stardom.

Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram today and to mark the second anniversary of his hit flick – Uri The Surgical Strike, the actor dropped the posters of his next film as he reunites with the team.

He wrote, “Another one!!! On the 2nd anniversary of URI-The Surgical Strike, the team gives you a glimpse into the world of #TheImmortalAshwatthama. Cannot wait to get onto this journey with the dream team of @adityadharfilms #RonnieScrewvala @rsvpmovies @soniyeah22 (sic).”

The futuristic and VFX laden poster has become insanely viral ever since it was shared digital space. Ashwatthama, a character from Mahabharata, was the son of Guru Dronacharya, who fought in the battle of Kurukshetra, for the Kauravas and against the Pandavas.

What did Vicky Kaushal say about his role in Ashwathama?

For his role in the film, Vicky Kaushal had reportedly learnt mixed martial arts, with focus on Krav Maga and Jujutsu.

In  a statement, the Masaan actor shared, “Ashwatthama is Aditya’s dream project and it required the backing of a visionary like Ronnie to bring this spectacle to audiences. It’s going to be a new space for me as an actor, exploring the newest form of technology alongside acting. Can’t wait to start the journey soon with this wonderful team.”

What’s on work front for Vicky Kaushal?

Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming projects include period drama Takht, Sardar Udham Singh and Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw’s biopic. Vicky Kaushal was last seen in the horror film Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship. The Immortal Ashwatthama is expected to release in 2022.
