Actor Satish Kaushik dies aged 66: Some unknown facts about the versatile actor

The Indian film industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor, director, and producer Satish Kaushik, who passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 66. Kaushik was known for his versatile acting skills and had been a part of the film industry for over three decades. Satish Kaushik’s early life and career

Satish Kaushik was born on April 13, 1956, in Dhanounda, a village in Haryana, India. He completed his schooling from DAV School in Dhanounda and graduated from Kirori Mal College in Delhi. Kaushik moved to Mumbai in the early 1980s to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He started his career as a film director with the film “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” in 1993.

Kaushik’s memorable roles

Satish Kaushik had an illustrious career as an actor and has delivered memorable performances in various films. He is best known for his portrayal of the character “Calendar” in the 1987 film “Mr. India.” He has also acted in films like “Brick Lane,” “Ram Lakhan,” “Deewana Mastana,” “Saajan Chale Sasural,” “Judwaa,” and “Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai.”

Kaushik’s contributions as a director

Apart from acting, Satish Kaushik was also a renowned film director. He directed films like
“Tere Naam,” “Vaada,” “Badhai Ho Badhai,” and “Milenge Milenge.” He also directed the popular television show “Sumit Sambhal Lega,” which aired on Star Plus.

Awards and recognition

Satish Kaushik was a recipient of several awards and recognition for his contributions to Indian cinema. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian for his performance in “Ram Lakhan” in 1989. He also won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film “Brick Lane” in 2008.

Personal life

Satish Kaushik was married to Shashi Kaushik, and the couple had two children, a son and a daughter. He was known for his friendly and jovial nature and was loved by his colleagues and fans.
