Akshay Kumar hospitalied; 45 Ram Setu crew members test COVID-19 positive

Akshay Kumar, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, has been hospitalised due to the same. The actor, on Monday, shared a statement on social media. He mentioned that he has been admitted to hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.

Akshay Kumar hospitalised due to COVID-19

Taking to his official social media handle, Akshay Kumar informed his fans that he has been admitted to hospital. “Thank you everyone for all your warm wishes and prayers, they seem to be working I am doing fine, but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home soon. Take care,” the actor wrote on Monday morning.

“I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself,” the 53-year-old actor wrote on Sunday, adding, “I am under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon!”

The actor was shooting for his upcoming movie titled Ram Setu. The movie also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead role.

45 Ram Setu crew members test positive for COVID-19

After Akshay Kumar, 45 members of the Ram Setu movie have also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. While more than 100 people were tested as a precautionary measure, results of 45 people came positive. The movie shooting has been put on halt.

Maharashtra has been witnessing huge spike in the number of coronavirus cases. The state has also imposed weekend lockdown. On Sunday, it recorded 57,074 cases, its highest from last year. While film and TV units are allowed to work on the weekends, the government has asked production houses to work at 33 per cent staff.
