Akshay Kumar, on Sunday, shared that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The actor took to social media to announce the same. Notably, the 53-year-old actor was busy shooting for his upcoming movie Ram Setu. The film also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Akshay Kumar tests COVID-19 positive
Taking to his official social media handles, the Hera Pheri actor shared a long note. Besides mentioning his test result, Akshay also said that he has immediately isolated himself. Currently, he is in home quarantine and is taking all requisite medical care. At last, the actor requested those who had come in contact with him, to get themselves tested.

Akshay Kumar commences shooting for Ram Setu
The actor commenced shooting for his upcoming movie and revealed his first look. Ram Setu will feature Akshay as an archaeologist. Taking to his social media handle, Akshay Kumar revealed his first look from Ram Setu. He will be essaying the role of an archeaologist. The photo features Akshay sporting a pair of glasses and has longer hair than usual. Sharing the picture, Akshay asked fans to share their feedback. “The journey of making one of the most special films for me begins today. #RamSetu shooting begins! Playing an archaeologist in the film. Would love to hear your thoughts on the look? It always matters to me,” he said.
Abhishek Verma is directing Ram Setu. Besides this, Akshay Kumar also has Bell Bottom, Bachchan Pandey, Sooryavanshi and Atrangi Re in the pipeline.
