Allu Arjun Donates Rs 25 Lakh After Tragic Pushpa 2 Stampede

Telugu actor Allu Arjun has expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incident that occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre. A stampede at the screening resulted in the death of M Revathi, a 39-year-old stay-at-home mother. In a heartfelt post on social media, Allu Arjun extended his condolences to the grieving family and assured them of his support during this difficult time. The actor also announced a generous donation to assist the family in their time of need.
Tragic Incident at Sandhya Theatre
On Wednesday night, as Pushpa 2 premiered at Sandhya Theatre, chaos erupted leading to a stampede that tragically claimed the life of M Revathi. She had attended the screening with her husband Bhaskar and their son Sreethej, aged 9. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm, causing severe distress among moviegoers.
Revathi's son, Sreethej, was critically injured in the stampede and is currently undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad. Revathi’s sudden death has left behind her husband Bhaskar and their seven-year-old daughter, who are now left to cope with this devastating loss.
In response to the heartbreaking news, Allu Arjun shared a video on X (formerly Twitter), where he expressed his grief and condolences to the deceased's family. In his message, the actor stated, “Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time.”

He further assured the family that they are not alone in their grief, promising to meet them personally. In an act of generosity, Allu Arjun announced that he would donate Rs 25 lakh to the family as a goodwill gesture and would cover their medical expenses. He also requested moviegoers to be cautious and considerate when attending screenings to avoid such incidents in the future.
Legal Action and Investigation
Following the tragic event, the Hyderabad police filed a case against the management of Sandhya Theatre, Allu Arjun, and his security team. The police have taken the matter seriously and launched an investigation into the incident. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Central Zone, Hyderabad Police, confirmed that a case has been filed under sections 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) r/w 3(5) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt) at the Chikkadpally police station. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for causing the chaos inside the theatre.
