Allu Arjun, the star of the upcoming Pushpa 2: The Rule, has found himself at the center of controversy after a recent statement about his fanbase. Known for calling his followers his "army" over the years, the actor's words during a promotion event in Mumbai have sparked a complaint from a local activist in Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun's 'Army' Comment and Public Backlash
While promoting Pushpa 2 in Mumbai, Allu Arjun expressed his deep affection for his fans, saying, "I don’t have fans; I have an army. I love my fans; they’re like my family. They stand by me; they celebrate me. They stand for me like an army. I love you all; I will make you proud. If this film becomes a big hit, I will dedicate it to all my fans."
However, his use of the term "army" to describe his fanbase has stirred a reaction from some members of the public. Srinivas Goud, president of the Green Peace Environment and Water Harvesting Foundation, filed a formal complaint at the Jawahar Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad. In his complaint, Goud questioned Allu Arjun's choice of words, stating, "Army is an honorable post; they’re the ones who protect our country, so you can’t call your fans that. There are many other terms he could use instead."

The Meaning Behind the Actor's Words
While Allu Arjun’s statement was meant to show the unwavering loyalty and support he feels from his fans, some took issue with the comparison to the military, believing that the term "army" should be reserved for those who serve in the defense forces.
The actor’s fans, who have long been a source of strength and encouragement for him, were undoubtedly moved by his sentiments. Many supporters online defended Arjun, seeing it as a simple expression of admiration and gratitude. Fans have been an integral part of the actor's journey, and this statement was just another way for him to show his appreciation.
Despite the controversy, Allu Arjun’s upcoming film Pushpa 2: The Rule remains a highly anticipated release. Set to hit screens on December 5, the film continues the story of Pushpa Raj, the character Arjun made famous in Pushpa: The Rise. The sequel promises to explore Pushpa’s rise from a daily wage worker to a feared red sandalwood smuggler, a role that earned Allu Arjun a National Award for his performance in the first installment.
Alongside Arjun, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna as his wife, Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as his nemesis, Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of Pushpa’s journey, and the film is expected to make a significant impact at the box office.
