AP Dhillon Slams Diljit Dosanjh’s Ticket Sales: ‘15-Second Sellouts Are a Dirty Game!

The rivalry between two of India’s biggest Punjabi music stars, AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh, has captured public attention, and recent events have added fuel to the fire. AP Dhillon recently criticized the practice of concert tickets selling out within seconds, indirectly accusing Diljit Dosanjh of unfair treatment towards fans during his ongoing Dil-Luminati tour. Although Dhillon didn’t directly name Diljit, his remarks left little doubt about the target of his accusations.
AP Dhillon’s Remarks on Concert Ticket Sales
Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, AP Dhillon expressed frustration over how concert tickets are often sold to promoters, forcing fans to buy them later at inflated prices. Dhillon said, “Artists are being unfair with their own fans. These claims of tickets selling out in 15 seconds? It’s all a marketing strategy. Promoters get the tickets first, and then fans are left to buy at higher prices.”
He revealed that he had considered engaging in similar practices but ultimately decided against it, saying, “I couldn’t go to bed knowing that fans who truly wanted to see the show were being exploited.” Dhillon also called this practice a “dirty game” and urged artistes with higher status to avoid it.
Diljit Dosanjh, currently on his Dil-Luminati tour, has remained a focal point in the debate. Reports suggest that tickets for his Ludhiana concert, set for December 31, were sold out instantly, similar to his previous shows.
The feud between the two stars initially surfaced during Diljit’s Indore concert, where he gave a shoutout to AP Dhillon and Karan Aujla. Dhillon responded during his Chandigarh concert by humorously asking Diljit to unblock him on Instagram. Diljit countered the claim by sharing screenshots, asserting that he had never blocked Dhillon. However, Dhillon later shared a “before and after” video showing evidence of being blocked and subsequently unblocked by Diljit.
Fans of both artistes are divided. While some support AP Dhillon’s stance against unfair ticket pricing, others believe that the allegations overshadow Diljit Dosanjh’s accomplishments. Both stars enjoy immense popularity, and their feud has sparked debates about transparency and fairness in the music industry.
A Broader Debate in the Music Industry
This controversy raises larger questions about the ethics of ticket sales and the responsibilities of artistes toward their fans. As Dhillon pointed out, “People are playing music like a game, and that’s sucked the joy out of it.” His remarks have resonated with fans who often struggle to get tickets at reasonable prices.
With Diljit Dosanjh concluding his Dil-Luminati tour in Ludhiana and AP Dhillon continuing to advocate for fan-friendly practices, the debate between the two stars is far from over. Their rivalry has not only highlighted personal tensions but also brought attention to a significant issue in the live music industry.
