Legendary actress and director Asha Parekh acknowledged in her autobiography The Hit Girl that she had a love relationship with married director Nasir Hussain. Out of respect for both families, the actress made the decision not to wed him. In a recent conversation about marriage with modern actress Zeenat Aman, Parekh expressed her happiness that she did not get married.
Asha Parekh said at the Ideas of India Summit, “Marriages are formed in heaven. It will occur if it must. But, if it is not intended to happen, it will not. Maybe it wasn’t written in my destiny, and I’m glad it didn’t happen. I hope you’ll agree with me.”
According to Zeenat Aman, it is difficult for a woman, especially a female actor in the industry, to have a successful married life. She also stated that female celebrities frequently make personal sacrifices.
“It is preferable not to be married than to be married and have a bad marriage. Many people are unaware that an actor works extremely hard to keep their marriage together. People who are not in the spotlight may not make the same sacrifices as these girls (referring to married actresses). They marry because they want to. I know a lot of girls who put up with things that most girls would not put up with “she explained.
