Auto Driver Who Rushed Saif Ali Khan to Hospital Receives Cash Reward from Organization

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan remains hospitalized following a knife attack at his residence on the night of January 16. The assailant, who allegedly broke into the actor’s home and stabbed him, has been apprehended by the police and placed under a six-day remand after a court appearance. While Saif is recovering from multiple injuries, an interesting detail has emerged about the auto-rickshaw driver who rushed him to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital in a critical condition.

It was reported that Bhajan Singh, the auto driver, claimed he had received a call from a woman that night to pick up a seriously injured man, Saif Ali Khan, and take him to the hospital. Two other passengers were accompanying Saif. Singh said that though Saif suffered severe head and face injuries and great blood splashing, no fare was collected from the actor or his travelling companions in the auto.

Even though none from Saif and Kareena Kapoor's families contacted Bhajan Singh so far, an NGO did pay him the needed recognition along with a sum. The organization stated that they issued him a cheque of INR 11,000 through which he bagged the institution's cash reward for accepting any help offered at any point. According to observers, had the auto driver reached the hospital a little late, the situation would have been worse for the actor, especially as a 2.5-inch knife fragment was lodged in his spine.

Though Saif's family has not said anything further on the issue, fans and well-wishers are still lauding Bhajan Singh for his timely help, which they believe might have saved the actor's life due to his courageous deed.
