The 74th British Academy Film Awards were held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, honouring the best national and international films of 2020 and early 2021. The ceremony was broadcast on BBC in the UK and around the world.
From India, Adarsh Gourav was nominated in the Best Leading Actor for his role in “The White Tiger”. “The BAFTA nomination is really overwhelming. It feels like I’m reading a chapter from a book,” Gourav shared.
Among others nominated in the same category, veteran actor Anthony Hopkins took the trophy home for his performance in “The Father”.
Chloe Zhao’s “Nomadland” won the most number of awards overall, including Best Film and Best Director. Zhao made history by becoming the first woman of colour to win Best Director and second woman overall.
