Bigg Boss: Top controversies that rocked Salman Khan’s show

Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss’ is considered as the ‘baap’ of all reality shows on the small screen. The show enjoys a significant fan following, all thanks to the non-stop drama, fights and romance in the ‘BB’ house. Although, ‘Bigg Boss 14’ has not been able to set the TRP charts on fire, the new season has managed to create buzz on social media.

The makers of the show have pinned high hopes on the wild card contestants, who have recently entered the ‘Bigg Boss 2020’ house. It won’t be wrong to say that the popular reality show is controversy’s favourite child as ‘Bigg Boss’ has often landed into trouble despite grabbing eyeballs. Here’s a look at the top controversial moments in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house over the years.

Kamaal R Khan’s antics in Season 3

Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK hogged all the limelight during his stint in ‘Bigg Boss 3’, which was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. The self-proclaimed critic threw a bottle at fashion designer Rohit Verma, which accidently hit Shilpa Shetty’s sister Shamita Shetty. KRK was eliminated from the show for his violent behavior. Interestingly, the makers brought him back as a special guest for three weeks.

Band Baja Baarat stirs controversy

While Sara Khan and Ali Merchant’s wedding brought record numbers for the show, it was mired in controversy. The ‘Bidaai’ fame actress’ mother said in an interview that the two TV stars were already married. Gossip mills suggested that Sara and Ali were paid a whopping amount to tie the knot on national television. Despite the buzz and nach-gana, their marriage couldn’t survive the high tide and they got divorced soon.

Armaan Kohli’s arrest in Season 7

Armaan Kohli was arrested from the set of ‘Bigg Boss 7’ for allegedly assaulting co-contestant Sofia Hayat during their stint in the show. Hayat had filed an FIR against the ‘Jaani Dushman’ actor after getting eliminated from ‘BB 7’. Armaan, who is considered as one of the most aggressive contestants in history of ‘Bigg Boss’, returned to the show after getting bail. His ‘romance’ with Tanisha Mukerji in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house also set several tongues wagging.

When Swami Om crossed all limits in Season 10

Self-styled Godman Swami Om stooped to an all-time low when he threw his urine on co-contestants Bani J and Rohan Mehra during a captaincy task. Despite his vile actions, he showed no remorse. The makers wasted no time in eliminating him from the show. Guess what? He didn’t leave so easily; he had to be escorted by security.

‘Bigg Boss 13’ becomes most violent season; rules go for a toss

There are a certain set of rules which every contestant has to follow in the ‘BB’ house. Speaking in English and any other language other than Hindi is strictly prohibited. The ‘BB 13’ housemates didn’t abide by the rules despite multiple warnings. Shockingly, they ignored one of the most important rules in the show- not indulging in violence. ‘Bigg Boss 13’ winner Sidharth Shukla had no regard for the rules as he was often seen pushing Asim Riaz, who also provoked the ‘Balika Vadhu actor at times. While many fans expected Shukla to get eliminated for breaking the rules, he continued to stay till the end and in fact, he lifted the winner’s trophy.

Madhurima Tuli hit her former boyfriend Vishal Aditya Singh with a frying fan. Fans slammed the makers for encouraging such behavior and not punishing the contestants for their actions.
