BJP's Upendra Singh Rawat MMS: Tamil Actress Kasturi Shankar Trolls Him, Asks for ‘Link’

Tamil actress Kasturi Shankar, known for her active presence on social media, recently stirred attention by trolling BJP leader Upendra Singh Rawat over an alleged MMS video leak. Sharing a few pictures from the rumored video, Kasturi playfully wrote, “Everyone saw these pics of #UpendraSinghRawat. They say the video is viral; where exactly to see that video? Please send link 😃.” Her comment quickly went viral, adding fuel to an already controversial situation.

Kasturi further claimed that the video isn’t fake, noting that Rawat had withdrawn from contesting the Barabanki Lok Sabha seat. “Clearly it is not fake because Rawat has backed out of Barabanki LS seat. Really admire UP BJP; they plan really well how to ruin their rivals!” Kasturi’s sarcastic remarks drew mixed reactions from fans and political followers alike.

Controversial Video Sparks Debate and Criticism

The alleged video of Rawat, showing him in an inappropriate situation with a woman, quickly became a hot topic on social media after he was re-nominated by the BJP for the upcoming election. The video’s timing sparked suspicion, with some interpreting it as a move to discredit him, while others questioned its authenticity.

As the video circulated, public opinion was divided. Supporters of Rawat pointed to the possibility of a smear campaign, while critics highlighted the need for accountability. Kasturi Shankar’s comments added a layer of humor but also raised questions about political tactics and media ethics.

In response to the allegations, Upendra Singh Rawat issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) in Hindi, firmly denying the video's authenticity. He claimed that the video was generated using deepfake AI technology and was being circulated with malicious intent. “A fake video of mine generated by deepfake AI technology is being made viral, for which I have lodged an FIR,” Rawat wrote. He further stated that he would not participate in any elections until he is proven innocent, appealing to the party president for a thorough investigation.

Rawat’s stance has sparked both support and skepticism. While his followers appreciate his decision to step back until his name is cleared, others remain cautious, calling for a deeper investigation to reveal the truth.

The Power of Social Media and AI in Politics

This incident highlights the complex role that social media and AI technology now play in politics. With deepfake videos becoming more prevalent, political figures are increasingly vulnerable to digital attacks that can potentially damage their reputations. Kasturi Shankar’s reaction showcases the freedom of expression on social media, but also points to the ethical considerations around sharing and commenting on unverified content.

As the investigation unfolds, both supporters and critics await clarity on the video's origin and authenticity. For now, Rawat’s withdrawal from the election and his call for an inquiry reflect the challenging landscape of modern politics, where truth and reputation are often at the mercy of digital influence.
