Bollywood celebrities who left us in 2020

With the extension of unfortunate events in 2020, the year is finally coming to an end. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the Bollywood industry saw an unprecedented break and some of the major releases were also postponed or cancelled. As the year had been extremely cruel to the entire world, the Bollywood fraternity witnessed some serious losses this year.

As this year is coming to its end, we have compiled a list of all the Bollywood celebrities who bid us goodbye in the year 2020.

1. Irrfan Khan 

This well-crafted and talented actor left us on the morose morning of 29th April 2020 in Mumbai.  Irrfan Khan succumbed to neuroendocrine tumour which was diagnosed in the year 2018. Known as the Indian face of the West, Irrfan was an extremely talented artist who had a quest for working in various styles of cinema. Irrfan Khan started his career by working for TV dramas in the 80s. The actor appeared in at least 80 movies including Paan Singh Tomar, Angrezi Medium, Hindi Medium, Haider, Salaam Bombay, Life of Pie and many more.

2. Rishi Kapoor 

This skilled and evergreen actor entertained Indian population with his movies for decades. Starting his career with the movie Bobby in 1973, Rishi Kapoor went on to work in almost 124 movies. With his movie Mulk in 2018, Rishi Kapoor made a huge impact on his audience. Due to his health issues, Rishi Kapoor was admitted in hospital for almost a year. The actor was last seen in the movie 102 Not Out, along with Amitabh Bachchan.

3. Sushant Singh Rajput

Ever since we came to know about his death on 14th June 2020, his fans have still not come in terms with his death. This 34-year-old actor made his acting debut with the television show named Pavitra Rishta where he performed as Manav Deshmukh and ruled people’s hearts. Sushant made his Bollywood entry with the movie Kai Po Che in 2013. His sudden demise infuriated a huge debate on social media and news channels as well.

4. Saroj Khan 

The masterji of Bollywood, Saroj Khan bid us goodbye on July 3 due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai. Born as Nirmala Nagpal, this choreographer joined the Bollywood  with the movie Nazraana where she acted as younger Shyama. Saroj Khan started her career as a background dancer in the 1950s and she got her assistant choreographer breakthrough with the movie Geeta Mera Naam (1974). How can we forget the social media being flooded with RIP tweets and posts after her sudden demise?

5. Wajid Khan

Belonging to the composer duo Sajid-Wajid, this Bollywood composer left us on June 1 and he was 42 years old. The composer made his Bollywood debut with the movie Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1988). The duo went on to compose numerous songs for Salman Khan’s movies and gained huge popularity.
