The Case Against Ram Gopal Varma

It was in 2018 that Maheshchandra Mishra, an owner of a firm called Shri., filed the complaint against Ram Gopal Varma. Varma did not present himself in court for a hearing on January 21, an offense for which the court put out a nonbailable warrant against him. The complaint had been over a bounced cheque which was related to the film producing firm of Varma.

Court's Verdict and Compensation

The court has ordered Varma to pay ₹3.72 lakh as compensation within three months. If he does not do that, then the jail time for him might extend further. The judgment was passed just a day before his announcement of new film, Syndicate. This judgment has now reached its culmination after seven years of continuous legal battle.

Economic Woes of the Film Maker
